Located between Arezzo, Cortona and Sansepolcro, Il Pozzeto is situated in the hills just 7 Km from the medieval village of Anghiari. The terraced property overlooks the panoramic views of Tuscany, Umbria and Le Marche. The Villa is surrounded by olive groves nut, fig and fruit trees. Climbing roses, lavender and other gardens are all part of the natural beauty of the 17th Century Villa, which was once used as a retreat by Franciscans on Pilgrimage to Assisi.
IL Pozzeto is comprised of 8 comfortable apartments. They are furnished in a Tuscan country-style and all have a private bath with shower, living room and kitchenette. A large common living room with a big fireplace, table-games and TV is available to relax in. Wifi is available in the reception area. In an annex, there is a large dining hall and a brand new kitchen ideal for cooking meals for families and large groups. The villa can be rented out in full, guaranteeing a private oasis for you and your guests for the duration of your stay. Apartments may also be rented individually.
Outside the villa there are numerous dining areas with umbrellas, tables, chairs and a great lawn as well as private reading areas tucked away in small gardens. The pool area has an authentic pizza oven and a large barbeque. Our large private pool has many tables, chairs, umbrellas, bathroom and bar for you to enjoy the views and soak up the Tuscan sun. With views of the surrounding farmland, the Valtiberina below and the distant mountains, you will be at one with nature in this peaceful, serene setting.
Activities in the area are never ending. This region is famous for it's history, art, great food, wine, olive oil and crafts to name a few. For outdoor activities, there is trekking, cycling, hiking, horseback riding, fly-fishing and more.
Anghiari is a beautiful medieval village in the heart of Tuscany. It's potent boundary wall built during the 13th century made it an inviolable bastion. On June 29, 1440 the well-known "Battle of Anghiari" took place. It has been memorialized on the fresco of the battle by Leonardo Da Vinci inside Palazzo Vecchio in Anghiari.
Anghiari's central location make it ideal for day trips to the many famous nearby Tuscany and Umbria villages, such as Sienna, Cortona, Florence, San Gimignano, Lucca, Chianti and Assisi. Many guests make Il Pozzeto their home base for these day trips, while other don't want to leave the peacefulness of Il Pozzeto's grounds and gardens. But they all agree that our location is one of the most beautiful they have ever experienced.
