The Badia, first church of Anghiari
The church was the first place of worship in Anghiari.
Re-constructed in the fourteenth century by the Tarlati's, it was enlarged in 1447 taking on its present dimensions.
In the main altar there is an image of a life-size Crucifix, sculptured in wood dating back to between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
At the top of the crucifix there is real hair, once flowing and today cut out of devotion.
In front of the Badia is the Museum of the Brotherhood of Mercy.
