ANGHIARI - The Castles
Galbino
The potency of a feud. Situated between a stream of the Sovara and the Provincial Road of Libbia, Galbino was an antique castle whose origins might go back to the year 1000, then the estate of Count Ranieri.
Transformed into a noble residence, the castle presents itself today with a tower in the center and little cylinder towers posted in the corners of the square floor plan. A splendid loggia with stone columns run along the facade.
It is well seen from above the road that connects the village of Tavernelle with the once Convent of San Niccolò a Gello (center modernly equipped to welcome religious groups).
