The Virgin Mother's spirituality emanates from behind the heavy curtains, lifted by two angels with a symmetrical and measured gesture: turris eburnea and mater amabilis, caught in the evidence of the tabernacle, that is also a dome and a curtain, while accomplishing a miracle. God incarnates and becomes nature: the swollen womb stretches the gown, the Virgin's left hand holds the weight while the right one protects the Divine Child. The sacrality and rituality of this image is emphasised by the fact that the two angels have been painted using the same cardboard panel and their position is perfectly specular.
