The Company of the Ricomposti
Poetry and Music from a farming cilvilization;It all began the evening of May 1st, 1979 at the Theater of Anghiari. "Magara la Chiucchiurlea'n tu/Cumbrigliume" was the title in dialect of the first show of some of the young of Anghiari who did a musical research with the aim of rediscovering and enhance the patrimony of popular culture in the territory of Tuscany and of the common person, which manifested its very conscious hold by means of dances, and human stories. Two years after there was an encounter with the journalist and writer Gian Franco Vené and therefore the second production "Canti nostri e dei populi amici" was named with an intentional contamination between popular Tuscany singing and that of the Latin-American tradition.In 1982 Vené wrote an original comical musical for the Company which had the most success. "Baldaccio d'Anghiari-Story and Legend of a Captain of Venture", performed fifty times with a tournèe in Geramny in October of 1982 at the invitation of Professor Roland Gunter of Oberhausen.
Furthermore, let us not forget the amateur dramatic theater and a great Anghiarian director like Frido Foni, who along with others of the Company produced Gioconado Zappaters and other comedies in Toscana vernacular. Another fundamental turning point was the meeting of the witty professor Pier Francesco Greci, who proposed to the Company of the Ricomposti the scratching operetta "Ciufolo" A brilliant musical about a cheating haberdasher always after women and their dowries. With "Ciufolo", performed thirty times, in Tuscany piazza's, the Compnay of the Ricomposti recieved the Giogo in 1990, which is the highest recognized prize recieved at the prestigious competition of popular theater held every year in Montagnano.The prize, adequate to the manifestation, consisted of a pure bred calf and 200 chilos of apples. The last show performed, written thanks to Vené's reativity shortly before his premature death, was the musical commedy "Antonio d'Anghiari" which debued in December of 1988.
A satirical about the life of a master painter who is said to have been one of Piero della Francesca's initiators in painting, and who in reality lived in the 15th century and comes back to visit. The show was prposed again in 1993 in memory of its author under the direction of young Anghiarian Andrea Merendelli. In the meantime the Company of the Ricomposti enumerated two successful tournée's in Ungheria at the Festa del Vino di Eger in September of 1992 and 1993. Always remaining in the program was the already tried recital of traditional, popular Tuscany songs in the form of a show and country vigil. Dalla Maremma a Bistarone is the title of this musical collection of local popular music, and Tuscany folklore, that in every occassion had unanimous concent.
The last show, Zarre, is another effort by Pier Francesco Greci, debued in Anghiari in January of 1995. A funny show in which the protagonist is a tax collector and victim of a cruel joke by the citizens and artisans of Anghiari who were fed up with his pretentiousness. Ashow sure to succeed with the Company of the Ricomposti, a boost to Anghiari in the rediscovering of a country tradition which made the Company perform exhausting replays to answer to an always numerous public.
